Barcelona!!!!!!!

The first stop on our Euro trip! We took a bus up to Dublin and flew to Barcelona. Rain rain rain. We brought the Ireland weather with us to Spain. Our beds at the hostel were terrible. I had a huge sink hole in the middle of mine. I folded my blanket up and put it in the hole and it made me level with the rest of the bed(yes the mental picture is right lol). We got up the next day and walked to Las Ramblas(the main street) and saw a market so we walked through it. It had so many types of fruits, veggies, meats etc I have never even seen some of them before. We all got big cases of fresh strawberries to eat with lunch. After that we walked along Las Ramblas and looked at the shops etc. It was raining so hard so we went to Suzanne's hostel to eat lunch(pb&j the first of many) and we spent the next 4 hours there waiting for the rain to let up even just a little. But no such luck so we went back out and Suzanne's friend showed us around the city a bit. We saw the buildings designed by Gaudi(look at the pics they are really cool). We walked until I was so wet i said I wanted to go back to the hostel. We went back and waited till dinner. We ate at a little Italian place just around the corner so we wouldn't have to walk far. It was really frikin good lol.

the next day it was still raining but a bit lighter. We went shopping on one of the streets and I found the "Claire" skirt that I have been looking for. We shopped until lunch and went to Suzanne's again for more pb&j. After lunch we went to see the Sagrada Familia. Its a church that has been under construction for over a hundred years and is still not done. But its really awesome(see pics). For dinner we didnt want more pb&j so we went to the store and all went in on ham and cheese and bread for sandwiches. We also got more stuff to make more pb&j since we were starting to run low lol. There was another shop we walked by the had the coolest clothes ever I wish we had them back in the states. But I got another skirt lol its really cute and was worth it.

day 3 beach day! Today was sunny and really stinkin hot! We walked to the park designed by Gaudi. We had to take the metro to it and then saw the hill we had to climb. It was seriously the biggest hill i have ever seen. It was so steep they had to put in escalators at the top to help ppl get up the hill! But once we got up there we walked around the park taking pics. Then we saw this cross up on a hill with ppl standing around it and wanted to get there soooo we found how ppl did it and we climbed through the fence just like them lol and ate lunch looking over the city(more pb&j). then we got kicked out by the cops haha and went back into town. Then we spent our last afternoon at the beach! we have so many funny stories from this trip that i have not put in here so maybe ill get to share those with everyone soon. For dinner we got traditional tapas which are basically appetizers only u order a few of them and its dinner. It was def not good but it was a fun experience and suzanne and allison had way to much sangria haha and were very entertaining.

travel day: getting on the trains to paris from barcelona was a huge ordeal and the people were mean and unhelpful. they tried to make us pay almost 200 euro for a train even tho we had our eurail passes which means they should be almost free. but eventually 3 trains later we managed to make it to paris around dinner time 12 hours after the journey started lol.

Barcelona pics are up!
