Well sorry for the lack of posting. It has been crazy busy here so another long post! I had 3 papers due last week over 2000 words each and my computer made one of them very difficult by deleting it after I had written the whole thing yay...not. But they all got turned in on time. Then Sunday Brad got here! I have to say looking forward to him being here has pretty much been the best thing since I got here. I know its Ireland and I should enjoy it but it was so much more fun with him here to enjoy it too.
Sunday-Brad got here around noon and I took him to get my favorite paninis for lunch. then we went to get groceries and he got to walk the death walk to the store that i do every week haha needless to say he did not enjoy that. :) Then we made some really good chicken alfredo and watched movies the rest of the night just taking it easy because he was super tired.
Monday- We got up early and went to see Blarney Castle. I realize I had already been but he wanted to kiss the stone so I went again. It was nice because the weather was perfect this time unlike last time where it rained the entire visit. We were there a few hours but had to come home because I had class. Then we made dinner and took a long walk around town. We had only planned to go exploring for a bit but ended up all the way into the city all over again haha way to much walking for brad. ;)
Tuesday- St. Patty's Day!!! We got up early and met up with Suzanne, Allison, and Stephanie to walk into town and see the parade. It was not exactly a good parade. It didn't have anything to do with St. patty's or even an Irish theme. Also since we stood in line for crepes for like an hour(what can I say I got addicted in Paris) we didn't get a good view of the parade. So, after a while we decided to just walk around and the girls got crazy green hats which made for much entertainment later that night. after that we went our own ways to get dinner and rest. Then we met back up to go to a pub where there was traditional Irish music and they were teaching Irish dancing. They didn't have it planned well for teaching but everyone was putting in a lot of effort to try and figure it out lol. I tried Murphy's beer and Bulmers cider at that pub but was not a fan of either. Brad bought his first legal drink here as well which was very exciting since he was around for my first and i was around for his! After that pub we went to another one called An Broug. It was way to full but it was a toooooooon of fun just watching all the crazy drunken Irish. I got beer spilled all down my back but no biggie. Brad stole a cup from there to keep because it had the Irish name of the beer on it. lol and Suzanne smuggled it out for him in her purse. After that we called it a night because we were tired.....oh and i got some fudge at the parade that was to die for yum so good.
Wednesday- We didn't do much this day just went to my classes. Brad stayed at my place and worked on some homework during some of them because he never quits ;) sry brad lol you know its true. This day we just hung around the house and took it easy but we did walk to tesco...again haha to get some post cards for Brad's gma's and stamps so he could send them while he was here.
Thursday- another uneventful day, I have class almost all day. so just a chill day of walking campus and hanging out at my place.
Friday- We went with Paddy Wagon tours on a trip this day. It took us to Limerick, Doolin, Galway Bay and the Cliffs of Moher. It was really cheap considering and let Brad see a lot of Ireland in just a few hours. Limerick was quick but we got to walk around for about an hour and I took Brad to some of my favorite places from when I went there before. Then we stopped on the shore of Galway bay. there was this like huge rock area and I honestly don't remember why they were special but it was really pretty and we got to get out and walk around and take pics. Then we ate lunch in Doolin which was seriously over priced but it was our only option since we over slept and didnt get a lunch packed. Then the Cliffs of Moher. They were incredible. it was a bit foggy but they were still stunning. Over 200 meters tall and we totally broke the rules and climbed over the wall(every one else was too so we just followed) to get closer to the edge and get way better pictures. It was a bit intimidating at first but then I got up the guts to get up right by the edge. After that we headed home and made dinner and crepes at home...or rather attempted them lol.
Saturday- We didn't have much time today. We got up and went into town and got some gifts for Brad's family. Then after a little bit more walking around and showing him some more sites of cork we had to head to the airport. Brad is now on his way home and I can't believe that his trip has already come and gone. Only 63 more days here in Ireland...wow
Take a look at the pics from St. Patty's and also Cliffs of Moher trip on my photo site! :)....I'll update when brad posts his(his camera is way better than mine) and add his to mine and I'll throw another update on here when those are on....also with my travel plans for April! yay!
