Kinsale....our 14 mile walking journey

So today Michelle and I went to a town called kinsale. It is on the southern coast and is really beautiful. The waves crash up on the beaches of stone and I could have listened to it for hours. It was a fairly small town but the sites to see were definitely better if u had a car to get to them with. We had planned to visit Charles fort as well as James Fort and the 9/11 memorial. That didn't really work out....

To start the day off i got locked out of my room lol. So we missed the bus we planned on getting. But we took one 2 hours later and just walked around the city until then. We took our 45 minute bus ride to Kinsale. Then when we got there we couldn't find the tourism building so we had to wing it. We decided to just follow the signs and try to figure it out as we went. We ended up heading to Charles fort first...little did we know it was about 2 miles up hill outside of town lol. It was so pretty though even if the walk was beyond horrid. It has a ton of history behind it and the lady there was very open about telling us anything and everything. We walked around in there for a while then headed back the two miles. We stoped along the way because we saw a castle like thing up the hill...when we walked up there it was a really ugly old church. haha bummer...so we walked back into town.
People kept talking about this church in town so we went looking for it. But it wasnt all it was cracked up to be either. We couldn't even find the front door haha. But we walked around there and town a bit looking for a place to eat dinner later. Since we got a late start we were going to have to eat dinner there or eat at like 9 when we got home.
We decided to head out to the 9/11 memorial. We got directions off their website so we knew where we were going...or so we thought. We went the 2 miles out of town the opposite direction of charles fort. We stoped and took a detour down some steps to the shore and arranged some rocks to make a cool picture...even tho someone else had already started it for us, look at my pictures on my site and you will see what we made. Then went over the bridge over the harbor and up the hill for 200 yards. Then we turned onto the street with the sign pointing to the memorial.....we walked and walked...and walked....and about a mile down that road we decided that there was no memorial as far as the eyes could see and it was getting dark so we needed to head back to town. So we gave up on that one. We walked back to town and ate at a place called muddy something. The people were really super nice and the food was pretty good, it reminded me of a tgiFridays.
Then we got back on the bus and took the 45 minute ride home back to cork where as it never fails...it was raining lol. It had been an incredible day sunny decently warm ie 41 as the high but it was perfect because all that walking was making us hot. But as cork always seems to do it brought the rain back haha. So we walked the 2 miles home and then called it a night after a long but very fun day.....even if we did walk 14 miles! It was a blast and everyone should visit this town I loved it! :)

ps if you still don't have the link to my pictures here it is :http://s12.photobucket.com/albums/a212/accidentallynlove05/Cork/ that is the main page and there are sub folders off to the left
